"A GRATEFUL HEART, WHO WILL DESPISE?"
Dear Diary,
It's with a heavy heart that I record this entry; not one with pain, but one overwhelmed with joy. This post is a bit late, but bear with me.
How are you doooiinngg??? I sure do hope everything is going okay😊
So...my Earthly calendar says...drumroll...I'm a year older today!! Your girl is a year older!💃🏾💃🏾 It's not April's fool, I promise😅.
Honestly it's amazing how time flies. Reflecting over my life today, as I sat down with a friend, I realised there's so much to be thankful for. Being grateful for life, and the many privileges we enjoy - not because we are better off than others - comes with it a certain level of wisdom and peace as a gift.
Gratitude, helps us to see clearly things that we may unfortunately take for granted; it brings things into light, and enables us to see that it is certainly not by default that we enjoy certain benefits. Gratitude makes you a happy person, it brings peace into your heart, and makes you appreciate life more. Don't worry, it's a short post today lol
I'd like you and I to undertake a brief exercise: no matter where you find yourself reading this post today, make a conscious effort to seek and find things in your life to be grateful for. It could be anything. Honestly, no matter what position your life is in today, I'm sure that if you make a little effort you'll find many things to be grateful for.
So I'll start:
I'm grateful for the gift of life, and how far I've come by God's grace, thankful for where I am in my life right now; I'm thankful for all the difficult moments that have contributed to making me the young woman I am today; I'm grateful for family and friends-turned-family (y'all know yourselves); I'm grateful for the people I've met along the way who have impacted my life, taught me a thing or two, corrected me where need be, prayed with and for me - thank you;
I'm grateful that I have a roof over my head, shoes on my feet, clothes on my back, food on my table; I'm grateful for the opportunity to interact with a wide array of people at work and the grace to help as best as I can; I'm grateful for you my beloved reader, THANK YOU! for sticking with me throughout the years, encouraging and believing in me, THANK YOU! I started this blog almost two years ago, and most of you have been with me throughout the journey...honestly, thank you, thank you so much.☺ I hope that we will continue this new year together; I promised consistency, and your girl's been doing it!!What are you grateful for? Say it aloud, to your own hearing, acknowledge everything good in your life, say it and mean it.
You are loved and appreciated, always.❤❤
