Transforming Your Mind

Scripture Reading:

Romans 12:2-3 KJV

[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. [3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Hello there child of God! Today we're going to be discussing renewal of the mind and it's role in us being able to identify what the will of God for us is. In this scripture, Paul iis admonishing the people of God to pay critical attention to their minds, making sure that it is not tailored to the thought pattern of the corrupt world we live in.

Before coming into Christ, there may have been certain things we thought were okay to do. We did things according to how we felt on a particular day, or how we think things should go concerning a specific sitaution. But the moment we come into the saving knowledge of Christ we are no longer to follow the "rules" or patterns of the world.

For e.g. in our world, if someone hurts you badly, the ideal thing to do is to hurt that person back, just so they can know what it feels like. But in Christ we are to learn to forgive and rather pronounce a blessing on someone who cursed us...difficult right?

The Bible shows us the surefire way of getting our thought processes in alignment with what is acceptable in God's world - reading of the Word.

Hebrews 4:12 NIV, "For the word of God is sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrown; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

The word of God, has the ebility to transform completely the thoughts and the understanding of an individual. And not just reading the Word for reading sake, but reading it in the Holy Ghost; allowing the Spirit of God to minister to you as you read and help you discern exactly what God wants you to do in a particular situation...you'll be able to prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Amen.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for today. I thank you for your Word. I ask that you help me in my quest to discern exactly what your will is for me everyday. Thank you Abba. You are good. In Jesus' name, amen!
