THE JOY OF HOPE

In the valley where shadows meet
You will find her seated, weeping in discreet
As silent as a cemetery she weeps on, wondering how her future will be
From dawn to dusk she awaits the arrival of Hope….
Hope, she imagines is a beautiful robe, adorned with diamonds and glittering gold
Which she imagines, can cover her shame with dignity
Which she imagines, can cover her sorrow with joy, and her past with a better tomorrow
As she waits, the fear of Hope never showing up cripples her soul
With the little amount of energy she has left, she dares to look UP and lo! She beholds a sight!
Oh! How sweet and bright the sight
The sight of the first sign of Hope, which had been hovering above
Waiting for the day she will forget her sorrow
Waiting for the day she will forget her disgrace
Waiting for the day she will lift her head up to embrace the hope that Hope brings
As Hope descends into her, she encounters the glory of the One and Only
Then she remembers that Christ in her is the Hope of Glory!
And there Hope had been all along….
She wipes her tears and weeps no more
She climbs herself to the mountain top
No matter the danger she embraces her future
With Hope as her companion she defies the laws of nature
She soars up to a ground higher, and declares with her voice louder: “I AM BETTER! I was in the valley, and I nearly drowned in my sorrow as you can see clearly,
But here I am living, embracing my future gladly
Oh! The joy that Hope brings is one you cannot afford to miss!”

Hope is a beautiful thing. An infinite well in the souls of men. It’s depth reaches into the depth of God. ‘Deep calls unto deep’.
